How to Make Non-Linear Reactive Stories

How tarot cards work as a game design.

I feel kinda odd explaining game design to people when I have no formal training beyond all the essays I've read on it. I think it boils down to the hours I spend studying legal codes and structures...like my thought process is similar to theirs except when I study a legal system I'm looking for ways to function inside of it, not build it.
